ACKNOWLEDGEMENT I want to acknowledge the University of Cape of Good Hope for training me on the body of knowledge for business management. I also acknowledge the management and staff and the clients of Hormuud Telecom for their unique role in this work. I thank God for giving me a gift of life and the opportunity to write this project. I would also like to express my gratitude to my supervisor Dr. steve Jobs for his professional guidance and assistance in this research project. ABSTRACT Cloud Computing has revolutionized the ICT industry. Adopting customers have raised concerns on quite a number of aspects that are of interest to the stakeholders, including academics. This project provides a highlight of the factors that organizations consider in the decision making process of adoption of cloud computing. It also addresses the benefits realized in the adoption of this resource. Hormuud Telecom a company in Somalia is the case study that has been used. The literature that has relevance on the adoption of cloud computing was reviewed. This included a comprehensive review of similar businesses and studies done in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. A special focus was given to communication caucus of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, within which Somalia is classified. Chau’s theory of cloud computing and Everett Rogers Technology Acceptance model informed the selection of the independent and the dependent variables. The goal was to determine how relative advantage, complexity of technology, technological trends and vendor scarcity affect how corporations adopt clod computing. Data was collected and analysed using SPSS and various statistics like measures of central tendency, and frequencies and results discussed. Further Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) and correlation analysis were used to verify validity of the research as a tool for inferential statistics. The conclusion was each of the independent variables significantly affects the dependent variable. The null hypothesis which was proposing that there is no relationship between the independent and dependent variables was therefore rejected. The results were compared with similar research work and were seen to be in tandem with the same. Recommendations were made and areas of further research given, for the same field of cloud computing, with a focus on addition of business
