Module 2 – Internet and Email

The field of Information Technology (IT) changed when Communication became part of it, leading to Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The principle tool for communication is the Internet and the electronic mail (email).

This module introduces learners the Internet, the history, the significance of it in various sectors of the economy, and the email.

Module Learning Outcomes

At the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  1. Manage the communication environment of Google and Microsoft Outlook environment
  2. Create and format the email and other applications
  3. Create and manage email messages
  4. Create and manage the contacts menu
  5. Schedule and manage calendar events
  6. Understand Internet legal and ethical issues like information security and copyrights
  7. Configure and Internet browser to achieve personalization and security
  8. Make use of online communities and social media
