KUCCPS Best Diploma Courses and Requirements

If you did not get a C+ (plus) and above in your KCSE, then you obviously do not qualify for university admission under the current rules- the cutoff grade for university entry is C+.

The good news is you can still pursue a Diploma course if you at least got a C- (Minus) in your KCSE- remember that you can upgrade your Diploma to a Degree in future depending on your career goals.

General requirements for diploma courses in Kenya

KCSE mean grade of either C plain, C minus of D plus depending with course.
KCSE mean grade of C plus for diploma in secondary education courses.
Meet minimum subject requirements for the course.
Certificate holders are eligible to enrol for diploma courses.

Diploma Courses in Architecture and Survey

Key requirements include;

KCSE mean grade of C plain for diploma in architecture, quantity surveying and highways engineering.
Meet minimum subject’s requirements of C plain in Maths, physics and in English or Kiswahili.
Diploma in highways engineering does not have minimum subject requirements.
KCSE mean grade of C minus for the remaining diploma courses.

Diploma Courses in Health

Below are the requirements for health diploma courses in Kenya as provided by Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS).

KCSE mean grade of C minus for Diploma in community health and nutrition, health records and information, community health and HIV management and mortuary science.
KCSE mean grade of C plain for diploma in pharmaceutical technology, science laboratory technology, and medical laboratory technology.
All KMTC diploma courses require a KCSE mean grade of C plain. Students are also required to meet the minimum subject requirements.
Note that C minus courses available on KUCCPS doesn’t Have minimum subject’s requirements. However, diploma level medical courses have minimum subject requirements which are a minimum of C plain in English or Kiswahili, biology, chemistry and in mathematics or physics.

At least C plus in the teaching subjects.
